Toluca Lake is one of the most picturesque neighborhoods in the city of Los Angeles, California, located in the San Fernando Valley 12 miles (19 km) northwest of downtown, and it considered the hidden gem of the valley. The name is also given to a private natural lake within the neighborhood fed by wells and maintained by neighboring property owners. Prior to the paving of the Los Angeles River in 1938 and L.A. well extraction in the late 19th and 20th century which lowered the water table, Toluca Lake was fed by artesian springs. Toluca Lake is home to many celebrities and feels like it’s own little Leave It To Beaver Town with it’s own strip of shops and restaurants and post office tucked away in a little corner of the valley. Great access to the Burbank Studios and Downtown LA or hop on the Cahuenga Pass to head into Hollywood!
